Does the Acadia strike also affect credit courses offered through Open Acadia?

Yes, since the instructors for all courses offered through Open Acadia are members of the 50904Öí°Ë½äÒ×¼ÇÍø Faculty Association.

Can I still work on my Open Acadia online course during the strike?

Students in online courses will retain access to the Acadia network and you can still work on your course during the labour disruption so long as the course remains open. However, you will not have access to your instructor, and you will not receive instructor feedback on questions, assignments, or exams until after the strike is over.

Will I lose some of the allotted time for completing my online course?

All students will automatically receive additional time added to the end date of their online course to compensate for the lost time and the unavailability of their instructor.

Can I request an extension for my online course during a strike?

Yes, you can still request and pay for an extension, but we will not be able to fully process your request until the strike ends, since it is the course instructor who makes the decision on a request for an extension.

When will I receive marks for my assignments or exams?

Marking can only be done by course instructors, so your marks will be delayed until the strike is over.

Will exams for online courses still take place during the strike?

No. Exams for online courses will not be written during the labour disruption.
